Orfordness Lighthouse was a beautiful lighthouse once situated on the Historic Suffolk coast in Orford Ness.
This lighthouse print was designed using a reduction method of printmaking. Reduction method is a printmaking technique when a multicoloured print is made with the use of a single carving block. Through a series of progressive cuttings, inkings, and printings, the image slowly emerges while the actual block is destroyed. A reduction print can therefore never be reprinted. In this lino cut I used a separate block for the sky to allow for the crisp white form of the lighthouse to come through.
This piece of coastal art would compliment the wall decor of any home or beach house with a nautical theme and would brighten up any room.
The print is 21.5cm high by 17cm wide with plenty of room surrounding it for mounting and framing. Each is signed and numbered with a limited series of just 15 prints.
